Deputyship Relinquishment

Only the Court of Protection can decide if it is deemed appropriate for a deputyship to be relinquished. A deputy is appointed by court order and only the Court can decide who that should be. The process of appointing a deputy can take many months but if the relationship isn’t working you are not obliged to stay with the same deputy. As with any relationship, there can be a clash of personalities and sometimes change is necessary.
