The Money Carer Foundation does not provide a deputyship service in-house, rather we work with our legal partners in the Court of Protection team at JMW Solicitors, one of a small number of panel deputies selected by the Office of the Public Guardian (OPG).
We triage referrals made into the organisation and our deputyship service is very popular, relied on by many referring partners such as local authorities, charities, care providers and family members, especially when resources are strained and vulnerable people need a fast and professional deputyship service.
The Court of Protection team at JMW Solicitors provide a wide range of deputyship services, supporting family members, social workers, local authorities and care providers connected with the vulnerable person. If a person loses the capacity to manage their property and financial affairs, an application to the Court of Protection needs to be made to appoint a deputy.
Without this, nobody can deal with their house, bank accounts, bills, debts, care fees or to ensure they have enough money for everyday needs such as food. This may be troublesome, especially for someone who is already vulnerable. Along with Money Carer, JMW Solicitors support the most vulnerable in society; to promote their quality of life and autonomy.
