Can The Cards Eligable For DRE?

If you are in reciept of a care package from your local council and you pay a contribution towards your care then you may be able to have the monthly fee for the carers shopping card service deducted from the fee you pay towards your care package.

This is called a 'Disabilty Expenditure Disregard' (DRE) and would essentially offset the cost of the monthly fee that we charge to provide the service to you and your carers making the service free for you.

The Money Carer Foundation firmly believes that our Carers Shopping Card Service should, for most of our clients who pay towards their care package, be a free essential disability service. Indeed, some forward thinking councils already offset the fee that we charge for our appointeeship service as a disability disregard which means that our service is free to our clients.
