How does the Carers Expense card work?

The Carers Expense card allows carers and service users to make purchases in shops and online in just the same way as any other MasterCard facility.

The Carers Expense Card is not have a credit facility however , instead the card is operated in a similar way to pay-as-you go mobile telephones in that the cards need to have funds transferred onto them before they can be used to pay for goods or services.

The cards can also be used to withdraw cash from ATM (cash machines) points just the same as other credit and debit cards.

The Money Carer Foundation tops up the cards with an agreed spending amount on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis (or as required) and we can instantly transfer service user funds directly onto a card as needed.
