Court of Protection Deputyship

Deputyship Service

The Court of Protection Deputyship Service from The Money Carer Foundation is a professional, low cost and innovative service from our dedicated daily money management team. Our deputyship service clients benefit from our expertise in money management for vulnerable adults and we are able to utilise our range of support tools such as our Carers Expense Card facility to support our clients and their carers day to day cash flow requirements. As we work closely with our local authority and other referring partners we adopt a collaborative approach to delivering the financial care that our clients require.

As deputyship can often incur substantive labour costs and the fees that Solicitors are able to charge for this service are restricted by the Court of Protection, many law firms choose to take on only those cases were the client has significant assets. This is because law firms are able to take a percentage of the clients estate in fees - those clients with no or few assets are not profitable for Solicitors and as such are typically not pursued by law firms.

This causes real problems for local authorities, other referring organisations when trying to find a suitable organisation to take on the legal responsibility of acting as deputy for a vulnerable individual that requires financial intervention and protection. The Money Carer Foundation are able to help vulnerable adults in need of financial protection via deputyship because of the low cost service that we provide.
