Elderly struggle with price rises
It is more of a struggle to get by finanically than it was a year ago, an Age UK poll has found. The poll of 1003 people aged 60 and above found a third can only just afford to buy the basics and one in 10 said they struggled to cope. Around one in seven said they lived in one room during winter to save on heating, with a similar number admitting to going to bed when they were not tired in order to keep warm.
