Disability Doesn’t Stop Jean Enjoying Her Pets

Londoner ‘Jean,’ 63, was devoted to her pets, two rabbits and a kitten. Wheelchair bound, and reliant on carers, Jean finds her pets to be a comfort and a source of companionship.

Despite her love for her pets, Jean’s disability makes certain aspects of pet care quite difficult. The Money Carer Foundation has worked in partnership with Age UK to arrange for volunteers to come to Jean’s home twice a month to clean out her rabbit hutches. This means Jean can continue to enjoy the pleasure her animals bring her without their care and upkeep suffering.
